QPR again reported to be keen to sign former Arsenal youngster

A round-up of the latest transfer speculation involving QPR…

QPR are again being linked with FC Twente midfielder Kyle Emecillo.

Rangers have not shown any interest in the former Arsenal youngster despite reports in his native Netherlands recently suggesting he had missed training session because he was finalising a move to west London.

Now Dutch media reports claim Emecillo was injured and would otherwise have been signed by QPR, who apparently remain interested but would need reduce their wage bill by offloading Leroy Fer before any deal could be done.

Speculation continues over the future of Charlie Austin, with the north-east media continuing to insist that Newcastle are pursuing a deal to sign the QPR striker.

Several clubs have been linked with Austin, but only Leicester have made an approach

The likes of Tottenham, who have shown no interest, have also been linked with Austin, as have West Ham and Everton.

Only Leicester, who had an offer rejected, have so far made contact with Rangers over the 26-year-old.

But the Northern Echo say Austin has been Newcastle’s top transfer target and that the Magpies have made ‘a succession of inquires’ without being able to agree a fee.

It comes after QPR director of football Les Ferdinand yesterday reiterated to the Evening Standard that the club want £15m for Austin, only Leicester have made an approach, and that Rangers plan to make him another contract offer if he does not leave during this transfer window.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s Nathaniel Chalobah is reportedly in line for a return to Reading on loan.

The England Under-21 international spent the second half of last season on loan with the Championship club, playing under former Chelsea man Steve Clarke.

And ESPN believe Royals boss Clarke is set to re-sign Chalobah, 20, in what would be the player’s sixth loan move.

Chalobah is yet to make a first-team appearance for Chelsea

Yesterday, Italian media reports suggested Chelsea duo Kurt Zouma and Ramires are wanted by Roma and Juventus respectively.

Walter Sabatini, Roma’s sporting director, is reported to have held talks with the Blues about a potential loan deal for Zouma.

And Juve are said to have targeted Ramires because midfielders Sami Khedira and Kwadwo Asamoah are out injured.

  • I would be most interested to know in what way "Newcastle are pursuing a deal to sign [Austin]" if they have not " so far made contact with Rangers over [him]".

Several reports in recent weeks have suggested a number of clubs "vying" with each other for the chance to sign Austin, whilst repeating that none of these clubs (other than Leicester) have even asked QPR if they want to do a deal.
