Five QPR players praised by Ramsey after Cardiff draw

Chris Ramsey felt QPR’s defensive players deserved credit for their display in the 2-2 draw against Cardiff.

Head coach Ramsey bemoaned his side’s missed chances after Cardiff’s late fightback at Loftus Road.

But he was pleased with the performances of Nedum Onuoha, James Perch, Clint Hill, Paul Konchesky and Karl Henry.

“Nedum, Clint Hill, Perch and Konchesky did very well. Karl Henry as well – I thought he was fantastic,” Ramsey said.

Onuoha had an excellent game at the back for Rangers

Ramsey also admitted that Cardiff’s tactics had forced the home team to play a more direct style than he would have liked.

“We created more chances than against Charlton. But what they [Cardiff] did was press up, so we couldn’t play the ball out and had to play long,” he said.

  • We had two experience managers Hughes and Harry. How are we to have good managers when we do not give time. When the team performs well. Managers do not get the stick. When teams teams fail to perform, managers are ostracized. We keep looking for another manager. What assurance is there that Allardyce would succeed. We thought and engaged Harry. We ended in the same situation.Harry would have resigned if we did not get promoted the last time. Cause when he left last in January, it was just a delayed action.

We are here to support and means supporting the team, players and every one concern. It is a tough league. If we do go up its a bonus. If we can hold our position is good. We are to consolidate and not expected to get promoted. Its a good sign not signing players, who taking us for a ride by earning their retirement income.

  • I don't agree with Chris Ramses comments about these players, onhouha did make one really good tackle but his control of the ball was shocking as usual and he dosnt organise the defence even though he is captain, clint hill gave 10% as always but he lost his man for there first goal and was struggling in the latter of the game and got beaten in the floor too easily, konchesky was solid and I agree with the comment above that perch was too central and gave Cardiff players too much space to get crosses in all the time, also Robert greens decision making was off as usual misjudging a through ball and getting lucky when he handled outside the box and late in the game he threw the ball straight to a Cardiff player instead of Phillips , in the middle lacked composure and gave too many long balls when we was playing one up front, we miss Barton badly, Phillips showed glimpses but needs to be more consistent, up top I thought austin didn't play well and was lucky with the goal as it came off his arm and shouldn't have counted, austin looks like he dosnt want to be here and it shows in his approach , jet should have scored with an easy chance when trying to blast home from ten yards when the keeper was already hitting the floor when all jet had to do was flick it over him, lastly polter looked an absolute donkey with no pace, control or composure , I can't see any improvement from polter and i think he's a shocking signing, I don't see a lot of improvement from the team and we don't have enough quality or pace , I think we will do well to finish mid table and would not be surprised if we get relegated unless we get some better players in and also another manager with experience like alladyce, Chris Ramsey is not good enough and keeps making excuses for poor performances, we are not improving under him and we are going backwards.

  • Onuaha was decent- some saving tackles. Perch allowed Cardiff a lot of crosses from the right side - so I wouldn't say he did his job. Clint was great as usual. Konchesky was average. Henry was decent.

  • i really think that managers watch games with their eyes closed when they rate players pheeew
