Tony Fernandes has told the BBC there are no plans to sell QPR.
In an interview for Hardtalk, the Rangers co-chairman spoke about the heavy losses incurred since the club’s owners took over in 2011.
But he insisted: “We’re very happy with where we are at QPR. We’ve built something. It’s a club in west London. It has lots of potential.
“Five years isn’t the life of a football club. Clubs have been around for a long time. Southampton were down in the third division.
“We see a plan, so we will see that plan through. I remain positively optimistic. No plans to sell.”
Fernandes also reiterated that the club have not given up hope of a new stadium at Old Oak.
Responding to the suggestion that the project had been quashed, he said: “No. It’s still there.”
Referring to the pursuit of a new stadium in general, Fernandes added: “Building in London is tougher than building an airline, but we’re patient and we’ll get there.”
