Ferdinand explains reason behind Eustace exit
QPR assistant manager John Eustace has departed the club as part of new head coach Michael Beale’s plans to bring in his own backroom team, director of football Les Ferdinand has said.
Eustace joined the club as assistant manager under Steve McClaren in 2018 and continued in the role under previous manager Mark Warburton.
He is expected to link up with Warburton again at Birmingham City, where the former QPR boss is expected to be appointed as manager.
Assistant coach Matt Gardiner has also left QPR.
“As is often the case with a managerial change, Michael is keen to bring in some of his own people and, as part of that, John and Matt will be leaving us,” Ferdinand said.
“We are hugely grateful to the pair of them for helping the club move forward and we wish them well for the future.”

Good luck to the incoming staff – you have a hard act to follow. New manager = new backroom staff, a fact of life.
