Les Ferdinand has told the Scottish Daily Mail that QPR have no plans to sell Sean Goss.
The midfielder, 22, has moved to Glasgow Rangers on loan for the rest of the season, having failed to impress R’s boss Ian Holloway since being signed from Manchester United a year go.
But Ferdinand has insisted the move is not with a view to an eventual permanent transfer to Ibrox for Goss.
“We’re not looking at that at all,” said QPR’s director of football.
“We’re just looking at this being about him going out to gain some experience. We have high hopes for Sean and his potential. This is just part of educating young players.
“We just hope he can go to Rangers and show his true worth. Sean has been unfortunate in the sense that the manager has had to change the system because of how this season has gone for us.
“The combination of midfield players has worked pretty well and Gossy has been unlucky because of it.
“We think playing in the Scottish Premiership for one of the biggest clubs in European football will be brilliant experience for him. He’s certainly a player we see with massive potential.”
Goss has started just three matches since his move to west London and has not featured at all this season.
