Alejandro Faurlin looks unlikely to make his first-team return in Tuesday’s League Cup tie against Walsall.
The Argentine stepped up his comeback from a cruciate injury by featuring in two games for QPR’s development side last week.
He believed he may have an outside chance of making an appearance in this week’s match, but manager Mark Hughes is minded not to select him for the time being.
Recent signing Jose Bosingwa, who came on as a second-half substitute at Norwich on Saturday, is in line for his full debut, while Shaun Wright-Phillips and Hogan Ephraim will be involved.
“It was good to get Jose on and we’ll try and involve him on Tuesday as long as there’s no reaction,” said Hughes.
“We’ll make a few changes because a number of players are itching to play – the likes of Shaun Wright-Phillips, who has been really unlucky because he had a good pre-season and I haven’t been able to give him an opportunity yet.
“It’s a little bit too soon for Ale. He did very well [for the development side] on Friday but he’s not quite there yet.”
