Faurlin will bounce back, says QPR star

Akos Buzsaky has no doubt QPR team-mate Alejandro Faurlin will bounce back from the knee injury that has ended the Argentine’s season.

Faurlin is facing several months on the sidelines with anterior cruciate damage – an injury Buzsaky has himself suffered.

And Buzsaky believes Faurlin will be firing on all cylinders in time for the start of next season.

“We are good friends and I’m going to support him as much as I can. I spoke with him and texted him after his operation,” said Buzsaky.

Buzsaky has had his own injury woes.

“It’s a good test for a player when you’re out for six months, because you need to be really strong mentally.

“But Ale is a really great guy and I’m not afraid for him. He’s going to come back even stronger.

“A cruciate injury is now very common. You shouldn’t think about stopping after having that injury. It’s happened with me, happened with Ale, and happened with other people.

“It shouldn’t be a big problem for his career. He’s only 24. He’ll come back for pre-season and next season will be fine.

“It’s hard, because afterwards your knee is always going to need some attention and you have to look after yourself. But that’s part of your career and everyone knows injuries are part of the game.”

Faurlin’s injury has been a factor in Buzsaky’s recent re-emergence as a first-team player, which continued with an excellent display in Saturday’s vital win against Wigan.

It means the Hungarian, who expected to leave Loftus Road this month, now has a chance to secure his future at the club.

His contract expires at the end of the season, but Buzsaky said: “I’m not thinking long-term at the moment. I’ve just enjoyed the last three games.

“It’s great to be back in the team and I don’t think about what’s going to happen in the summer. It’s not really important.”
