Sherwood indicates he is interested in QPR job
Tim Sherwood has indicated that he is interested in taking over as QPR manager despite the club’s difficult financial position.
West London Sport revealed last week that Steve McClaren was set to be sacked as Rangers boss and that Sherwood is the club’s first choice to replace him.
Mark Warburton, Gary Rowett and Michael Appleton are also of interest to Rangers, who confirmed McClaren’s departure on Monday.
Sherwood is a friend of QPR director of football Les Ferdinand, who worked with him at Tottenham and has long wanted to install him as manager at Loftus Road.
Speaking on BT Sport, Sherwood claimed it is “just speculation” that he is in frame, but also said he would “look at” the opportunity.
“It’s a difficult job but it’s also a fantastic football club,” Sherwood said.
“If they’ve got realistic expectations of the future, and there was an opportunity to go in, it’s something I would look at.
“But at the moment it’s just speculation – just a lot of talk.”
