QPR fear Grant Hall could be facing a spell on the sidelines with an Achilles injury.
Hall was substituted at half-time during the 2-1 defeat against Burton at Loftus Road and will be assessed over the next 48 hours.
He looks certain to be unavailable for Wednesday’s game at Newcastle, which Idrissa Sylla is also expected to miss.
Striker Sylla picked up what appeared to be a hamstring problem during Saturday’s game.
A long absence for Hall, who was recently moved from defence into midfield, would be a blow for Rangers as they are already without the injured Jordan Cousins.
“He (Hall) has got a very sore Achilles so he’ll be out,” said boss Ian Holloway.
“Sylla’s got some kind of issue. I don’t know about it yet, but somebody’s just told me he might not be able to travel.”
Sean Goss could be included in the squad for the trip north after completing his move from Manchester United.
