QPR’s Djibril Cisse says the capture of goalkeeper Julio Cesar would be a statement of intent by the club that would be noticed around the world.
Rangers are close to sealing the 32-year-old’s signing from Inter Milan in one of the most eye-catching deals of the transfer window.
And former Lazio striker Cisse, who played against Cesar in Serie A, has no doubt the Brazilian would make a major impact in England.
“It would be a really good signing for us. I played against him. He’s a really, really good keeper,” Cisse declared.
“It shows the club wants to go forward and show the whole world that we can do well. It’s a big statement.
“It’s a good thing for us. He’s a top-class goalkeeper. He’s good with both feet, good in the air and has quick reactions. He’s complete.
“He’s also quite big and physical, so I think he can do well in the Premier League.”
