Field praised by QPR boss Cifuentes
Marti Cifuentes has praised Sam Field for his response to QPR increasing their midfield options.
Field, who recently signed a new three-and-a-half-year contract, was a standout performer for Rangers last season and a key player this term prior to the arrivals of Issac Hayden and Joe Hodge.
And boss Cifuentes says the 25-year-old has continued to prove his worth.
Cifuentes said: “He’s showing that despite big competition that we have in midfield that he is a reliable player, is always giving his best.
“When he came back from suspension he played magnificent and I was very happy for him when he scored two goals against West Brom.
“He has been helping us a lot and I’m very happy for him and it also helps everybody else to keep their best level. It’s a luxury (selection) problem).”
Rangers face a vital home match on Good Friday against fellow strugglers Birmingham City.
Cifuentes’ side currently sit one point above the Championship relegation zone and a win would take them four points clear of the Blues.
The Spaniard said: “The players are believing in what we are doing and are showing that they want to compete and get points.”
