Caulker determined to ‘turn things around’
Steven Caulker says he pulled out of a proposed loan move to Locomotiv Moscow because he is not fit – and has insisted he can turn his career around.
The troubled QPR defender was responding on Instagram to allegations in The Sun newspaper about his private life as well as suggestions he pulled out of a move to Russia because of money.
West London Sport revealed last month that Caulker, 25, was in talks about a possible loan move.
It was then widely reported elsewhere that the deal had been sealed, but that was not the case.
“It was MY decision to pull out of the Moscow deal because I was not fit – absolutely nothing to do with money,” Caulker, who has not played since October, wrote.
He added: “I am still young enough to turn things around and believe I can do that now I have right support in place.
“The media have ruined so many lives in order to make a few pennies – they aren’t going to continue to do that here.
“I’ve made mistakes in my life, that’s no big secret and I’m sorry to anyone I have hurt or offended along the way. I’m working hard to correct this and won’t let anything get in my way.”

Why is the word ‘alcohol’ and Caulker’s drunken behaviour at Clapham South Station for which he was fined £650 on January 17th 2017 omitted? Is it because WLS are afraid of being sued? You’d be better off telling none of the story than half and being economical with the actualite.
