Tommy Smith, DJ Campbell – who missed a penalty – and Rob Hulse featured as a QPR XI were beaten 1-0 by Aldershot Town.
Jordan Roberts’ first-half thunderbolt gave keeper Aaron Lennox no chance and turned out to be the winning goal.
Campbell was handed a chance to equalise shortly before the interval when keeper Jamie Young brought him down, but the striker fired the resulting spot-kick wide of the target.
Lennox produced a number of saves in the second half – the pick of the bunch keeping out Ollie Lancashire’s close-range header.
