Teenage goalkeeper Joe Walsh looks likely to spend time away from QPR on loan next season.
Walsh, 19, arrived from Gillingham in January - after West London Sport had revealed Rangers were set to sign him.
He is regarded as one for the future, although he was a substitute for the final matches of the season.
QPR will need to review their goalkeeping options this summer as Joe Lumley’s contract ends and Seny Dieng might attract interest from other clubs, while Motherwell are keen to keep Liam Kelly, who has been with the SPL side on loan.
But manager Mark Warburton would ideally like Walsh to play first-team football elsewhere rather than stay at Rangers and be on the bench.
“Keepers have to have that experience - you’re so brutally exposed when you play between the sticks,” Warburton said.
“Joe, who has done really well since he’s come in, will probably need that experience at some stage. We’ll see how the boys report back.
“He’s stepped up to first-team training when called upon and done exceptionally well.
“Let’s see nearer to the start of the season. We’ll look at what our situation is with regards to our first-team keepers and decide from there.”
Meanwhile, QPR appear to be close to deal to keep Charlie Austin and are on the verge of completing the permanent signing of Sam Field.
Todd Kane faces the axe, with the club looking to bring in right-back to replace him.
And chief executive Lee Hoos has told West London Sport he would like to see safe standing installed at Rangers.
