Boost for QPR as duo are declared fully fit ahead of Spurs game
QPR striker DJ Campbell has been declared fully fit following his recent injury problem.
Campbell, who spent much of the season struggling with a foot injury, has more recently been on the sidelines with a hamstring complaint.
He returned to training a fortnight ago but was not fit enough to be included in the squad for last weekend’s game at West Brom, after which boss Mark Hughes suggested that the player faced an important week as he tried to build up his fitness.
And Hughes has confirmed that both Campbell and Heidar Helguson have made good progress in their recoveries and are available for Saturday’s match against Tottenham.
Helguson, who came on as a substitute last time out, has been easing his way back following a groin problem.
“It went well with DJ this week,” Hughes told West London Sport.
“With Djibril Cisse now back from suspension, I’ve got all my strikers available and they’re all different types of striker, which is obviously good.”
