Bond explains QPR captain’s absence
QPR assistant manager Kevin Bond insisted there was no way skipper Clint Hill could have played against Watford.
Hill was ill when the squad gathered ahead of the game and missed the 0-0 draw at Vicarage Road, where he was replaced by Nedum Onuoha.
It was Onuoha’s first appearance in the starting line-up since he suffered a hamstring injury more than three months ago.
Bond revealed: “Clint came to the training ground and was in a terrible state. He had a fever and all sorts. It’s some kind of virus.
“Fortunately, Nedum had come on a couple of games ago. He was excellent and it was as if he’d not been away.”
