Bond admits Rangers’ defending was poor
Assistant manager Kevin Bond admitted QPR paid the price for their poor defending at Doncaster.
They were beaten 2-1 at the Keepmoat Stadium, where Rovers fought back in the second half after going behind to Charlie Austin’s 43rd-minute goal.
Bond was also quick to praise the home side and point to Rangers’ impressive results this season.
“A lot is expected of us, and rightly so, but we didn’t defend as well as we needed to today,” he said.
“I don’t think we did well enough to prevent the equaliser and, in fairness, Doncaster were the better side after that.
“They had a spring in their step after that and we were never able to wrestle control of the game away from them.
“We can be critical of our second-half performance but that would detract from how well they played.
“We weren’t happy with the way we played in the second half but you can’t take anything away from Doncaster.”
