Jordan Cousins was sent off as QPR yet again dismally exited the League Cup at the hands of lower-division opposition.
Armand Gnanduillet’s goal just before the half-hour mark put Blackpool ahead and Jay Spearing’s late strike sealed the League One side’s place in the fourth round – which Rangers haven’t reached for 10 years.
The visitors failed to register a meaningful effort on goal in a truly woeful performance summed up by the manner in which Spearing had time to fire in the second goal.
And, on a night when a number of youngsters were selected, two of QPR’s more experienced players left the field early because of their indiscipline.
Cousins, booked in the first half, was dismissed with 20 minutes left when he picked up a second yellow card after fouling Jordan Thompson and then being involved in an off-the-ball confrontation.
Earlier, Josh Scowen was taken off on 25 minutes after appearing to be fortunate not to be sent off.
Soon after being booked for a foul on Gnanduillet, Scowen escaped without picking up another yellow card following a challenge on Callum Guy.

Time for our owners, chairman and ever useless DoF, to put out a statement at the beginning of each season as to whether the club is willing to take cup competitions seriously.
Fans travel to games in the hope that QPR may finally have a cup run worthy of a mention. The more cynical of us don't bother because we know that the club doesn't give a fig about cup runs and, sadly, about its fans.
think a hard match just became a tad harder, I just hope McC doesnt regret this.
