Bircham leaves QPR to return to Millwall
Marc Bircham has left QPR to join Millwall as first-team coach.
Bircham, who made more than 100 league appearances as a player for the south London club, links up with Ian Holloway following the former Rangers manager’s recent appointment as Lions boss.
Holloway signed lifelong QPR fan Bircham in 2002 and the 35-year-old spent five years as a hugely popular midfielder at Loftus Road before returning in a coaching role after injury problems ended his playing career.
He leaves his job as Rangers’ Under-21s boss, having turned down a role at Millwall in the summer, when Steve Lomas was eventually appointed by the Championship outfit.
Bircham also rejected an opportunity to become Nottingham Forest’s director of football in 2012.
Lomas was sacked last month and was succeeded by Holloway, who left Crystal Palace in October.

Good luck to him, I have not doubt he will be a decent manager one day.
