QPR boss Harry Redknapp plans to discuss a potential deal with Yossi Benayoun later today.
The 33-year-old Israeli, a free agent since his Chelsea contract expired during the summer, has been training with Rangers this week.
He wants to continue living in London and would like an 18-month contract, but Redknapp was keen to assess him first.
“I’m going to have a chat with him today and see what he wants to do,” Redknapp explained.
“We haven’t spoken to him yet. We’ve got to sit down and have a chat to him and see what he’s looking at.”
Having made his name in the Premier League with West Ham, Benayoun was at Liverpool before a £5m move to Chelsea in 2010.
He made only one league start in a three-year spell with the Blues, during which he was loaned to West Ham and Arsenal.
