Begovic confirms QPR contract talks

Asmir Begovic has confirmed he is discussing a new deal with QPR.

West London Sport recently revealed that Begovic, who will turn 37 later this month, is in talks about another contract at Loftus Road and that Newcastle, West Ham and clubs in Saudi Arabia have shown an interest in the veteran goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Scottish media have reported that Celtic are keen on Begovic.

“I am currently looking at options, talking to obviously QPR, and seeing what happens there,” he told Talksport.

“It’s still pretty early in the transfer window. Nothing has been decided yet. I really enjoyed last year, the fact that I played so many games.”

Begovic signed a one-year contract when he joined QPR last summer after leaving Everton.

It meant a return to west London for the Bosnian, who was with Chelsea between 2015 and 2017.

His career in England has also included spells at Portsmouth, Stoke and Bournemouth.

Begovic was ever present for Rangers in the Championship last season before Joe Walsh was selected at Coventry in the final match of the campaign.
