Barton available for Leicester clash
Joey Barton is set to be included in QPR’s squad for the trip to face Leicester.
The Rangers midfielder has been nursing a thigh problem but trained this week and has been passed fit for the game against the Championship leaders.
Boss Harry Redknapp is also hopeful Clint Hill will return after injury, which would enable him to rest Richard Dunne, but Jermaine Jenas is still sidelined.
Andy Johnson and Shaun Wright-Phillips featured in a midweek Under-21 match and are both available this weekend.
And Redknapp has confirmed that Kevin Doyle is back with the club despite a knee injury previously seeming to have ended the on-loan Wolves striker’s involvement.
“He’s recovered well and trained well this week so it’s great to have him back,” said Redknapp.
“It looked like it was going to be a while. The first news was that it would be five or six weeks but he’s done great.
“We’ve got two games so it will be case of juggling around with the squad this weekend.
“Hopefully Clint Hill and one or two others will be back and it will depend on Clint whether we might be able to rest Richard Dunne.
“Aaron Hughes is okay, so is Nedum Onuoha and Joey Barton is fine.”
