Another comfortable win for QPR in Ireland
Bobby Zamora and Charlie Austin scored as QPR rounded off their visit to Ireland with a 2-0 win at Athlone Town.
Junior Hoilett and Austin went close for the visitors before Zamora opened the scoring with a close-range finish.
Austin netted early in the second half, firing home from near the edge of the penalty area – his third goal of the pre-season campaign.
Striker Austin then headed narrowly wide and was twice denied by a goal-line clearances in the closing stages.
Steven Caulker also went close for QPR when he headed wide of the target from Danny Simpson’s right-wing cross.
Rangers are next in action on Saturday when they face Greek side PAOK at Loftus Road.
