QPR manager Harry Redknapp has cast fresh doubt over the future of defender Luke Young.
The former England international, 33, has made several appearances for Rangers’ Under-21 side since Redknapp suggested in February that Young’s career was in jeopardy.
But the R’s boss does not seem convinced that Young, who has complained of hip problems for over a year, will have a role to play next season.
Redknapp said: “He wasn’t fit enough to be in the squad this year. He didn’t feel he could play.
“He’s still here and we’re paying him every week. I don’t know what next year holds for him really.
“If he’s not fit enough to play I don’t know where you go with him really. Hopefully he’ll be fit enough to play.”
Young’s last first-team appearance was against Sunderland in March last year.
