Ickenham-based Jordanne Whiley reached her eighth consecutive Grand Slam final on Friday as she and Yui Kamiji won their semi-final at Wimbledon.
The Anglo-Japanese pair comfortably defeated fellow Briton Louise Hunt and Germany’s Katharina Kruger 6-0 6-3 on court 17.
Whiley and Kamiji dropped only six points in the first set, two of them coming as they tried to close it out.
Hunt and Kruger responded brilliantly by breaking early in the second to move 3-1 in front but Whiley and Kamiji reeled off five straight games to clinch their place in the final.
They will now face another meeting with former Wimbledon champions Jiske Griffioen and Aniek van Koot of the Netherlands, who defeated them at last month’s French Open final.
