Martin Gould cruised in to the second round of the World Grand Prix in Lllandudno with an impressive 4-1 win over two-time former World Championship semi-finalist Alan McManus.
Gould took the first frame with a break of 59 and went 3-0 ahead with some steady scoring in the next two.
McManus responded with his only 50 of the match in the fourth frame, but the fightback was short-lived with the Pinner potter saving the best until last with a 71 to seal a comprehensive victory.
World number 24 Gould now faces Mark Selby in the last 16 of the £300,000 event on Wednesday evening.
Reigning world champion Selby beat Michael Holt 4-1 in his first-round match.
