Pinner’s Martin Gould booked his place in the third round of the Indian Open with a 4-2 victory over Jamie Jones on Thursday.
In his second event of the 2016-17 season, Gould beat Allan Taylor 4-0 in the first round but found it tougher against world number 35 Jones.
The pair were tied at 2-2, after Gould had made a 79 in frame three, but the 34-year-old edged through after pinching the next two.
Gould, currently ranked 15th in the world, next faces World Championship quarter-finalist Kyren Wilson, in Friday morning’s third-round match in Hyderabad.
