Clinical Gould reaches German Masters final
Martin Gould reached the third ranking event final of his career with a convincing 6-2 victory over former world champion Graeme Dott in the German Masters semi-finals.
The Pinner potter took a scrappy opening frame and then raced in to a 4-0 lead at the interval, with a stylish 87 in the third frame the standout break from an impressive first session.
World number 20 Gould, who beat Mark Williams, Ben Woollaston and Judd Trump on his way to the final four, lost two of the next three frames.
But he prevailed in a nervy eighth frame and will earn the first ranking event title of his career if he beats either Kyren Wilson or Luca Brecel in Sunday’s final.
