Uxbridge’s Natasha Baker won the third and fourth Paralympic gold medals of her career with a commanding performance in the dressage in Rio.
Baker, on her horse Cabral, was the best rider on all five of the jury’s scorecards as she retained the grade II individual title she won in London.
Her overall score of 73.400%, ahead of Demi Vermeulen on 71.600%, also helped Great Britain win the team championship.
Hammersmith-born Baker, made an MBE in the 2013 New Year’s Honours list, still has the Grade II indivual freestyle later on Friday.
There was a silver medal for Eastcote’s Andy Lapthorne after he lost the wheelchair tennis quad singles final to world number one Dylan Alcott.
Lapthorne – who had taken bronze in the doubles after the longest wheelchair tennis match in history – lost 6-3 6-4 to Australian Alcott.
Ealing’s Gaz Choudhry contributed 12 points but Great Britain were beaten 69-63 by Spain in the wheelchair basketball semi-final.
Choudhry and his team-mates will face Turkey for the bronze medal on Saturday.
They finished second to set up a quarter-final against Australia on Wednesday.
