Brilliant Baker wins three European golds
Paralympic heroine Natasha Baker celebrated a hat-trick of gold medals at the European Para-Dressage Championships in Denmark.
The Hammersmith-born rider, on her horse Cabral, won the Grade II freestyle event on Sunday, having retained her individual title on Saturday.
Baker’s performances also helped Great Britain take the team gold for the 14th time in a row in major competition.
The 23-year-old, who lives in Uxbridge, won both the Grade II individual and freestyle golds at London 2012 and was keen to repeat the trick almost 12 months on in Herning.
She retained her European Grade II individual title with Cabral on Saturday, scoring 72.114%, and then went on to beat Germany’s Angelika Trabert by more than three percentage points in the freestyle event on Sunday.
Baker and Cabral will bid for more Para-Dressage glory at the World Equestrian Games next year.
