The manager of Chiswick Futsal Club says hard work on and off the court will be required to make their first season as a National League side a success.
The Brentford-based team were elevated to the second tier after success in the London Futsal League, and last week learned their fixtures for the upcoming campaign.
They will begin on 11 September at home against Futsal Club Enfield, who finished third in Division Two South last term.
Chiswick’s next game, in what is a busy autumn calendar, is away against fellow league debutants Pro Futsal London. The club will then play the remaining 12 league games of the season over the remaining five months, against Barking, Braintree, Kickers, London Zappsport and Sussex.
The top two clubs in Division Two will then play each other, and the winners meet the bottom side from the Super League in a promotion/relegation play-off.
Chiswick will also take part in the FA Futsal Cup, joining the knockout competition in the second round in March 2017.
The club’s pre-season kicked off at the end of June, and the team now have warm-up matches against clubs from across the country such as the Saints, Bristol and Birmingham.
First-team manager Peter Prickett, pictured above with the team, said: “It’s already been a big year for this futsal club. We are now looking forward to taking our first steps at a higher level.
“From here on, it’s all about commitment and hard work – from the management team, the players and myself.”
All league home games will kick off at 4pm at the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre. Any fans interested in attending please email enquiries@chiswickfutsalclub.com or call 07712 348186 for more information.
