George Groves got the win he needed to stay on course for another world title challenge, beating Martin Murray on points at the O2 Arena.
Hammersmith’s former British, European and Commonwealth super-middleweight champion outboxed his opponent, with all three judges scoring the bout 118-110 in his favour.
Groves, beaten twice by Carl Froch and more recently edged out by Badou Jack in world title challenges, quickly established his jab and landed telling blows early against the determined Murray.
Murray, from St Helens, was wobbled by an uppercut in the seventh round and hurt again in the ninth, but he battled on and landed with two powerful shots in the 10th which Groves did well to absorb.
However, Groves finished strongly and a well beaten Murray looked out on his feet by the end.
