Joe Joyce secured a third first-round knockout win of his fledgling career as he saw off Ivica Bacurin at York Hall.
David Haye’s heavyweight protege needed less than two minutes to floor his Croatian opponent with a left hand to the head following a routine combination.
Bacurin was a late replacement and caused no problems whatsoever as Joyce walked to his fifth win out of five.
Putney’s Joyce made his significant size advantage pay and it now remains to be seen if Haye, who recently announced his own retirement from the ring, will be able to put the 32-year-old in with a higher standard of opponent.
A number of high-profile heavyweights, including Dereck Chisora, have been approached but have declined to face Joyce.
