Ouseph suffers first-round defeat at World Championships

Rajiv Ouseph lost in the first round of badminton’s World Championships in Indonesia.

The Feltham man, who represented Great Britain at the London 2012 Olympics, was beaten 21-16 21-12 by Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand in 36 minutes at the iconic Istora stadium in Jakarta.

It meant Ouseph, ranked 19th in the world, missed out on a second-round match against Derek Wong of Indonesia.
