Rajiv Ouseph cruised into the second round of the Scottish Open Grand Prix on Wednesday with victory over Petr Koukal.
Feltham’s world number 19, who is the tournament’s second seed, took half an hour to win 21-15 21-8 in Glasgow.
The first game was not going with the script as Czech Koukal – ranked 49 places below Ouseph – led 8-3.
But the west Londoner hit back and, after the pair traded blows to reach 14-14, raced away with seven points from the next eight to seal it.
There were no scares in the second game once Ouseph had opened up a 14-6 lead and he went on to seal a second round tie with either Daniel Benz or Lucas Claerbout.
