Ouseph cruises through in Macau Open
Rajiv Ouseph needed just 21 minutes to dispose of Beng Hong Kuan on Tuesday and ease through to the second round of the Macau Open.
Hounslow’s world number 28 won 21-8, 21-8 against Kuan, who is ranked almost 200 places below him.
Ouseph, the tournament’s fifth seed, was quickly into his stride, opening up a 10-2 lead and then winning eight points in a row on his way to taking the opening game.
Malaysian Kuan is a former top 50 player but, now 31, he had no answer to Ouseph’s quality.
The west Londoner was ahead throughout the second game and always had enough in the tank to keep Kuan at arm’s length.
Ouseph faces 18-year-old qualifier Chi Yu Lo, of Chinese Taipei, in the next round on Wednesday.
