Ouseph bows out in Denmark
Hounslow’s Rajiv Ouseph was unable to spring a surprise against world and Olympic champion Lin Dan at badminton’s Denmark Open.
Ouseph always faced a tough task against the Chinese star and was beaten 21-14, 21-13 in their first-round clash.
The 25-year-old, England’s number one men’s singles player, secured a place in the tournament in Odense with two qualifying wins on Tuesday.
He saw off Russia’s Stanislav Pukhov 21-7, 21-17 before coming from behind to beat old rival Scott Evans of Ireland 17-21, 21-12, 21-14.
