United sign Margate midfielder Yussuff
Hayes & Yeading United have signed former AFC Wimbledon midfielder Rashid Yussuff.
The 24-year-old joins from Ryman Premier Division side Margate, managed by former Hayes boss Terry Brown.
London-born Yussuff came through the ranks at Charlton and, although he never made a first team appearance at The Valley, he did play once for the England under-18s, as a late substitute for Daniel Sturridge.
After leaving Charlton, he made only a handful of Football League appearances for Gillingham before Brown took him to AFC Wimbledon in 2010.
Yussuff flourished for the Dons, helping them to promotion to League Two, and had made more than 100 appearances by the time he was released last summer.
He linked up again with Brown at Margate, who recently signed former United stars Charlie Wassmer and Dan Wishart.
United boss Phil Babb said: “Rashid is a technically gifted midfielder and his experience gained from playing more than 100 Football League games for AFC Wimbledon will help our young squad.
“I’m delighted that he has come on board and I’m sure he’ll have a positive impact.”
Yussuff will be included in United’s squad for their Conference South clash with Havant and Waterlooville at Kingfield on Saturday.
