United sign ex-Aldershot keeper Young
Hayes and Yeading United have added former Aldershot goalkeeper Jamie Young to their squad.
The 28-year-old left the Shots only this summer and has since had short spells with United’s Conference South rivals Basingstoke and Whitehawk.
Australian-born Young made 123 appearances in League Two for Aldershot over the last four seasons, having also played for Wycombe, Rushden and Diamonds and Reading.
The former England Under-20 international will compete with fellow ex-Aldershot keeper Mikhael Jaimez-Ruiz for the number one jersey at United.
Boss Phil Babb said: “We’re delighted to bring another quality addition into the squad.
“We have two fantastic goalkeepers at the club now in Jamie and Mikhael and the healthy competition that brings will only serve the club well.”
