Tarpey departs Hampton as five sign on
Hampton and Richmond have re-signed five key players for next season but lost popular striker Dave Tarpey.
The Beavers have agreed deals for captain Billy Jeffreys, goalkeeper Rodney Chiweshe, defender George Wells, utility player Tommy Brewer and midfielder Ben Osman.
However, Tarpey, who rejoined for a third spell at the club in January, has signed for Conference South club Maidenhead.
The 25-year-old scored 14 goals in the final half of the season, including a brace in the Middlesex Senior Cup Final win over Wealdstone.
But the Beavers will be particularly pleased to have retained the services of Chiweshe and Wells, who picked up the players’ player of the year and young player of the season awards respectively.
Skipper Jeffreys is hoping to be fully fit having undergone an operation on a knee injury which sidelined him for most of last season,
Former Wealdstone midfielder Brewer turned in some dynamic performances from right-back, including a goal from inside his own half against Lowestoft, while Osman broke into the side towards the end of the campaign.
