Stones gear up for play-off clash
Wealdstone will look to extend their marvellous season – and take a step towards promotion – when they visit Lowestoft Town in a one-legged Ryman Premier play-off semi-final tonight.
The Stones reached the last four of this seasons FA Trophy and are still in with a major chance of reaching the Conference South.
Manager Gordon Bartlett (pictured above) declared: “I’ve said to the boys ‘We’ve lost one semi-final, now we’ve got an opportunity to put that right’ and it’s a new challenge to really achieve something.
“The character of the squad has been exceptional. It’s been a great season – we’ve won nothing so far but we’re in good form and who knows?
“At one stage we were only playing for fifth place. We’ve done so well to end up fourth and I can’t praise them highly enough.”
The winners of tonight’s game will face either Bury Town or AFC Hornchurch, who contest the other semi-final.
