Hampton and Richmond Borough boss Alan Dowson hopes new loan signing Mark Onyemah will tighten up his defence.
The 19-year-old joined the club from Luton Town in time to be named in the squad for Saturday’s home game with Billericay.
Hampton have kept just two clean sheets in their last 14 matches in all competitions, and have conceded 10 goals in their last five league games.
But Dowson believes Onyemah, who joined Luton in the summer from Thurrock, has the quality to strengthen the back line.
He said: “Mark is rated very highly by Luton and this move will do him the power of good. He will be a handy addition.
“He goes straight into the squad for Saturday and we are looking forward to seeing how he helps us. Everyone knows we are letting in too many goals at the moment.
“This is the final game before Christmas and we need to give the supporters something after a few bad results.
“We’re not a million miles away but it’s a busy period for us now and we need to put some performances together.”
