Hayes & Yeading defender Dean Inman says it would be “a dream come true” to emulate his cousin Martin Rowlands.
Rowlands, 34, played for non-League Farnborough before moving to Brentford and then QPR, where he made nearly 200 appearances.
Inman told West London Sport: “Rowly has made a fantastic career in the game. He started off at Farnborough playing non-League before getting his move to Brentford.
“He’s played for clubs like Brentford, Queens Park Rangers, Leyton Orient and now Aldershot. It would be a dream come true to follow his footsteps into the pro game.”
Inman spent last season on loan at Farnborough and once had a trial at QPR.
He was a target for Hayes & Yeading for some time before eventually joining the club this summer.
“I spoke to Rowly a lot when I was at QPR on trial and he gave me some really good bits of advice,” Inman added.
“It’s the same at the minute with the [Hayes & Yeading] gaffer [Phil Babb]. He is great because he’s been there and done it. He’s played at the highest level and knows what it takes.
“It’s good to pick up advice from people that have experienced it all.”
