Haylock returns as Hayes & Yeading boss
Hayes & Yeading United have reappointed Garry Haylock as manager.
The 44-year-old returns to the club having been first-team coach and analyst with League Two side Exeter City.
He will continue to have a role with the Grecians while taking charge of United.
Haylock replaces Tristan Lewis, who this week stepped back from managing to concentrate on his role of director of football.
He was the first-ever manager of Hayes & Yeading United following the merger in May 2007, having previously been Yeading boss.
Haylock led the new club to a historic promotion in 2008-09 and guided them to 17th and 16th in two seasons of Conference Premier football.
However, he resigned in May 2011 and later had short stints in charge of Farnborough and Bedfont Town.
Haylock said: “I know what a great club Hayes & Yeading United is and what an even greater club it has the potential to be.
“I’ve stayed in contact with many at the club and kept tabs on the trials and tribulations of recent seasons but when the opportunity arose I didn’t really have any reservations at taking the job.”
United chairman Tony O’Driscoll added: “After a few years of turmoil on and off the field, the great work by Tristan Lewis and others here now gives us the footballing framework to move onto our next chapter.
“With Garry leading the first team, I know myself and others can focus on building the rest of the club and community business around it, to secure our long-term future.”
