Hayes and Yeading United have won a reprieve from relegation after Hereford were kicked out of the Conference.
United were sent down from Conference South on the last day of the season following a contentious defeat to Dover.
But they have now been saved after Hereford told league bosses they would not be able to settle their £148,000 debts before Thursday’s deadline.
The Bulls will have to take a drop of two divisions for next season, and Hayes and Yeading are the beneficiaries.
It means Phil Babb’s side will take on west London rivals Wealdstone next season after they won promotion from the Ryman League.
United had originally appealed against their relegation after feeling they should have benefited from a resignation in Conference North, as they had a better playing record than Oxford City, who were given a reprieve.
That appeal was rejected but the club will now be playing in Conference South again.
Hayes and Yeading said in a statement: “After weeks of waiting and agonising over first the unsuccessful appeal and then the Hereford situation, it comes as a great relief that the club can now start to make proper plans for the season ahead.”
