Hampton & Richmond Borough manager Mark Harper has been told to improve results – and quickly.
The Beavers are next-to-bottom of the table and suffered a humiliating 6-2 defeat against Arlesey Town in the FA Cup second qualifying round on Saturday.
Their early elimination from the competition could have significant financial repercussions for the Conference South outfit – as could relegation if they are unable to turn their season around.
And chairman Steve McPherson appears to be losing patience with Harper, who stepped up to become manager following Alan Devonshire’s departure in the summer.
“I’ve been in touch with Mark over the last few days and we’ve shared our separate views,” said McPherson.
“I expect there will be a lot of changes in personnel on the pitch. We cannot accept these performances or afford to go down.
“Mark, as the manager, knows what he has to do – come up with a solution and fast.”
Meanwhile, Hampton defender Dean Inman is likely to train with QPR again next week after spending the past few days on trial with the club.
Inman was initially invited for trial after impressing during a pre-season friendly against the R’s, but had to wait several weeks to link up with them because of an ankle injury.
Borough would be entitled to a fee for the 21-year-old, who signed a new contract with them earlier this year.
