Wealdstone chairman Krais to step down
Wealdstone chairman Howard Krais is to step down at the end of the season.
A lifelong supporter of the National League South club, Krais has been in charge for nine years and oversaw the 2008 move to their current stadium at Grosvenor Vale.
The Stones won the Ryman Premier League in 2014 and enjoyed two FA Cup first-round matches, against Rotherham in 2009 and Colchester last year.
Krais has also been credited with the growth of the Wealdstone Youth Club, establishment of Wealdstone Ladies FC, higher attendances and extended links with the community.
He said: “After nine years of utterly selfless and generous support from my wife and family, I need to give them more of my focus at what is an important time for us currently.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Wealdstone Football Club Board of Directors, Gordon Bartlett and the team management, and our former and current players, for so much help, support and dedication over the past nine years.
“I also want to thank our generous sponsors and, most of all, our amazing fans for all their support, encouragement and advice during my time as chairman.”
