Hampshire 176 & 227 lost to Middlesex 330 & 77-1 by nine wickets
Sam Robson scored a brisk 36 to help Middlesex cruise to a comfortable win over Hampshire before lunch on the final day at Lord’s.
Earlier in the day, Toby Roland-Jones, Tim Murtagh and James Harris had all chipped in with a wicket to end the visitors’ resistance and bowl them out for 227.
That set Middlesex the seemingly simple task of 74 for victory and Robson and Stirling wasted little time in eating into the target.
They chalked off 38 in the first seven overs before Stirling was bowled by former Middlesex team-mate Gareth Berg for 16.
Nick Compton added another 16 while Robson went on to make 36 from 45 balls, including the winning boundary.
The victory leaves Middlesex third, 15 points behind reigning champions and unbeaten front-runners Yorkshire.
