Middlesex have ditched the Panthers name used for their limited-overs sides.
They started using it in 2009 in both the one-day and T20 competitions but have now followed in the footsteps of some other counties in scrapping their nickname.
Middlesex chief executive Vinny Codrington said: “We are looking forward to being known now simply as ‘Middlesex CCC’, which to anyone in the game of cricket is a name that immediately invokes feelings of heritage, success and respect – values which we, as a club, pride ourselves on.”
The club’s Pinky the Panther mascot will remain and the club’s junior membership will continue to bear the Panthers name.
