Middlesex capture Kent star Denly
Middlesex have clinched the signing of England hopeful Joe Denly from Kent.
Denly, who has played one-day and Twenty20 cricket for his country, has been snapped up on a two-year contract.
The 25-year-old opening batsman scored 1,024 runs in the County Championship last season – an average of 37.92.
“This is an important stage of my career and I’m really excited about the move to Middlesex, who are a club on the up as shown by their recent promotion,” he said.
“I’m committed to becoming the best player I can possibly be and firmly believe that the environment at Middlesex will help me achieve that and one day resurrect my prospects at international level.”
Middlesex chief executive Vinny Codrington said: “Joe Denly is a major addition to our squad. He can play all three formats of the game and is a quality player. We are delighted to have captured his signature.”
